What can I expect at Elemental Retreat Massage Therapy LLC?
Elemental Retreat Massage Therapy offers non-judgmental, therapeutic massage, in a safe and comfortable environment.
What should I be aware of, regarding current safety policies regarding Covid -19 and other contagious diseases?
Policies will be updated to reflect current guidelines. Please be sure to check our policies before every appointment.
What should I do before my massage?
You will receive a health intake and consent form. Please be thorough in filling out all information.
You will want to be well hydrated before your massage. We encourage you to add electrolytes to your water (sodium, potassium and magnesium) and drink a little extra the day before your massage. Massage increases blood flow and stimulates the lymphatic system. Hydration supports these systems and can increase the benefits of the massage.
Leave all jewelry and valuables at home. Refrain from wearing makeup, hair products, hair accessories, perfumes, or lotions. Think of your massage as a rebirth. Come free from attachments. Let your hair down. Let go of worries, expectations, fears, and judgments. Turn off your cell phone. Plan a relaxing activity before for after your massage to increase the benefits. Feel free to ask us about relaxing things to do in Mazomanie. We can recommend a short hike in nature or quiet places to sit etc.
What does my therapist need to know about me?
Please be thorough when filling out your intake, health history and reason for visit forms. These forms are found in your confirmation and reminder emails. Always update your therapist, before arrival, of any new medical conditions. Some conditions are contraindications to massage therapy and your treatment will need to be adjusted accordingly.
Before every massage, your therapist will evaluate how to proceed with the massage, to best meet your needs. Please inform her of your goals for the session.
What do I do once my therapist leaves the room?
After your therapist leaves the room, you will undress to your comfort level, and sanitize your hands. We highly encourage you to remove any tight clothing. Proper circulation is integral to a good massage. Oil or cream will be used in most instances. While most of our products wash out easily, some fabrics may be more delicate and may stain. Please keep this in mind and avoid wearing anything that could be damaged by exposure to oils. It is perfectly fine to disrobe completely. Once you are on the massage table, please cover yourself fully with the sheet and blanket provided. You will be draped according with the state law. Only the part of the body which is being worked on will be exposed.
Feel free to use the provided eye pillow to cover your eyes. This is yours to keep. Take a few deep breaths. Center yourself and begin to relax. When you are ready, you will press the call button to notify your therapist. Your therapist will enter the room shortly.
Should I talk during the massage?
A face cradle, bolster, eye pillow, and heated table are all for your comfort. Please let your therapist know if you have any questions about any of these things, or if they need to be adjusted. Please communicate with your therapist concerning pressure and temperature.
During the massage, just breathe deeply and let go. Let your body be heavy and soft. Sometimes it is helpful to visualize a favorite place, which you find relaxing, or to focus on your breath's ocean like quality. It is perfectly fine to moan, sigh, or even to fall asleep and snore. The greatest benefit of massage works through activating your parasympathetic nervous system ("rest and digest"). Achieving this deep state of relaxation allows for healing to take place for many hours after the massage.

What Our Clients Are Saying
Anna. "Hanna did an amazing job helping me achieve my goals of both pain relief and relaxation. She did such a good job that I actually caught myself dozing off for the first time during a massage! If that doesn't scream relaxation I'm not sure what does! The environment of her space is both calming and relaxing which is the perfect combination for a massage. She is diligent about listening to your body with her hands to find those spots that need a little extra attention and also listening to you by making sure that the amount of pressure she's using is enjoyable for you."
Jenn N. "Amazing! Hanna can and will find the spot. I've never felt so relieved after just an hour. Thank you Hanna, you are a blessing to those of us with aches and pains."
