Several modalities may be used during your integrated massage, unless a specific modality is scheduled, or discussed before your massage
Deeply relaxing, a great stress-buster. Improves circulation, works tension out of your muscles and improves general health.
A gentler version of Swedish massage. By stimulating the body's parasympathetic nervous system, blood pressure decreases, heart rate slows, and digestive activity increases. Breath deeply and let your troubles float far away.
Deep Tissue Massage
For chronic pain due to repetitive strain injury, soreness due to heavy physical activity, or for clients who have sustained physical injury. Deep, focused work can facilitate the healing process and help you to manage your pain.
Connective Tissue Therapy
A form of intense massage that aims to release myofascial (connective tissue) restrictions in the body. It has also been known to help relieve chronic tension, to increase the body’s range of motion, to improve posture and to enhance the natural harmony of the entire body and mind.
Trigger Point Therapy
A trigger point is an area of highly contractile muscle tissue within a taut muscle fiber (what most people call knots). Trigger points often refer pain and can be very uncomfortable. Trigger point therapy deactivates these points through finger pressure.
An East Asian technique which promotes the flow of Qi (energy) and blood throughout the body for overall health. It is used to to treat (as well as prevent) the common cold, flu, bronchitis, asthma, as well as any chronic disorder involving pain. Gua Sha involves repeated pressured strokes over lubricated skin with a smooth edge. Gua Sha treatments are not painful. However, a Sha "rash" often remains for 2-4 days after treatment. Red spots are an indication that toxins are being released. Where the area is deep purple the blood is old and extremely stagnant. A dark green discolouration is a sign that stagnant blood and toxic Qi are being released from the system.
Cupping is an ancient Chinese healing technique. Special cups are placed on the skin creating a suction which draws up the underlying tissues. The cup is then left in place for a few minutes. Blood stasis is formed and localized healing takes place. Cupping helps to release toxins, activates the lymphatic system, clears blockages, strengthens the veins, arteries and capillaries, and rejuvenates the skin. Also improves the appearance of stretch marks and cellulite.
This abdominal massage increases circulation, aligns and tones the uterus, breaks up adhesions, clears blockages, and supports normal reproductive health. Whether you are just starting to plan a family, or you've been trying for sometime, this massage can help to bring a new little one into your life. Self massage and castor oil pack treatments are taught within the first session. Follow up sessions can be a refresher or a part of a longer massage.
Especially for expecting mothers. Pregnancy massage improves circulation, relieves mental and physical fatigue, and is very relaxing for both you and baby. It can help relieve many of the common discomforts you may be experiencing and help you prepare for labor. Side lying and/or semi reclining positions are used.
Learn how to give your baby the gift of massage. The power of touch in your baby's life has many physical and emotional benefits. It strengthens your bond and deepens your level of communication with your child, increases your baby's IQ, improves social skills, reduces anxiety, improves sleep patterns, improves weight gain, and much more. Teaching your infant relaxation skills helps them to grow strong, confident and carefree. It's also a great experience for parents.
About Your Therapist
Hanna Friedericks is nationally certified, Wisconsin state licensed, and a member of the American Massage Therapy Association. A graduate from Lakeside School of Massage Therapy, Hanna has been offering high quality massage, to a diverse clientèle, since 2008.
Hanna believes in a holistic care model and supports her clients journey to form healthy habits. Good sleep, a healthy diet, clean water, and everyday stress management, can be the best health care insurance. When we create the right conditions to activate our parasympathetic nervous system, our bodies are allowed to do what they are meant to do: heal themselves.
Hanna will encourage you to breathe deeply and reach new levels of relaxation. She will "listen" with her hands and heart, working gently, efficiently, and deeply, to find the places that need attention, space, movement and light.
Hanna was born in a small town, on the South Dakota plains, and has been deeply influenced by the serenity of nature. The vast open space of the prairie has always been in her heart. It has taught her that great wonders are revealed through stillness and presence. Hanna now lives in the Driftless region, of Southwest Wisconsin, with her husband and three house rabbits. She loves gardening, hiking, traveling, cooking, and learning new things.
Anna. "Hanna did an amazing job helping me achieve my goals of both pain relief and relaxation. She did such a good job that I actually caught myself dozing off for the first time during a massage! If that doesn't scream relaxation I'm not sure what does! The environment of her space is both calming and relaxing which is the perfect combination for a massage. She is diligent about listening to your body with her hands to find those spots that need a little extra attention and also listening to you by making sure that the amount of pressure she's using is enjoyable for you."
Jenn N. "Amazing! Hanna can and will find the spot. I've never felt so relieved after just an hour. Thank you Hanna, you are a blessing to those of us with aches and pains."
